Goldeneye 007 for the N64- Where it all began
I remember it all fondly, the times when I would get home from school with a friend of mine and walk into the make shift gaming emporium that made up my families TV room. We would pick up the goldeneye 007 cartridge and blow out any dust that may have in it and slam it down into my N64. The excitement that would follow when we would begin a match was un-paralleled by anything before it.
It actually blows my mind that this game was released over 15 years ago. I couldn't list the amount of times that sat back as a group and played any of the multiplayer modes. My favourites were always capture the flag and man with the golden gun. But by far the funniest and surprisingly enough, most exciting mode to play on was chops only when no weapons except for karate chops were allowed. This game was the pre cursor to all great multiplayer shooters that are so popular today. Everyone has that one game that turned them into a "gamer" and for me, this was it. To this day I think it was the most fun I have had in a game just for the multiplayer options. The only negative things that can be said about this game would be the graphics that have the bad guys all looking like they are taking a perpetual shit and the cheesy sound effects that puts the wilhelm scream to work for sure. That being said, these things add to the overall feeling of the game and are half the charm while looking back. Not the mention, it had literally the best sound track of any game in history.
